Mom-n-Tot NEW!

Mom or Dad participate with their toddler in this class. Led by a USAG safety certified gymnastics instructor, toddlers learn basic coordination and balance skills as well as learning to listen and follow direction.
Ages: 18 month-3 year olds

Preschool

This 45 minute class offers 3-4 year-old children an introduction to gymnastics. On scaled down equipment, children learn basic gynmastics skills. This class helps preschoolers develop coordination and listening skills along with learning to take turns and follow directions.

Level 1

Gymnasts learn basic skills on the uneven bars, balance beam, vault, trampoline and floor exercise. Basic dance skills are introduced as well as flexibility and strength exercises.
Ages: 5-12

Level 2meet_05

Level 2 focuses on the continuation of progressive skills with more difficult tumbling and equipment skills being introduced. Skill requirement for this class is a round-off and a back roll.
Ages:5-12

Level 3

Gymnasts progress to more challenging gymnastics skills on the uneven bars, balance beam, vault, trampoline, floor exercise and dance. Students at this level should attend class two times per week. Skill requirements for level 3 are a pullover on bars and a backbend.

Mini-Team

The mini-team is a developmental class for the serious gymnast. This class moves at a more accelerated pace with emphasis placed on the skills needed for competition. Class requirement: back kick-over on floor and a back hip circle and pull-over on the bars. Mini-team meets 1-1/2 hours, twice a week.

 

Pre-Teampreschool

Pre-Team gymnasts train specific skills needed for the USA Gymnastics Level 4 compulsory routines.

Class requirements:

  • Instructor recommendation
  • Back walkover and round-off back handspring on floor
  • Back hip circle and pullover on the uneven bars

Pre-Team trains 1 1/2 hours twice a week.

Cheer and Tumbling

The YMCA cheer class is excellent for girls interested in trying out for Jr. or high school cheerleader. Participants learn proper motion and jump technique, cheers, and tumbling.

Athletes in this class learn tumbling skills needed for cheering. Special emphasis is placed on learning proper form and technique on round-off back handsprings and back flips as well as more advanced skills. Skill requirment for class is a back roll, round-off and back kick-over.
